We run events and information sessions every October for students thinking of applying for an exchange.

Application support drop-in sessions

SWAY staff will be running drop-in sessions on the following dates for applicants who would like help or guidance in completing their exchange application:

  • 29 October - EFI, Room 3.62
  • 5 November - EFI, Room 3.62
  • 12 November - [Venue update] EFI, Room 4.35

All sessions will take place from 2-4pm in Edinburgh Futures Institute (EFI).  These are drop-in sessions for all students so no appointment is required.

Go Abroad Fair

This event provides an opportunity for students to come together in person informally. Returning exchange students will be posted at tables to answer questions and chat about their experiences with fair attendees.

 

  • The 2024 Go Abroad Fair took place on 16 October. 
  • The 2025 date has not yet been confirmed.

 

FAQ Sessions

FAQ Sessions are aimed at 2nd year undergraduates and will address frequently asked questions regarding our exchanges, the application and selection process, costs and funding opportunities and more.

 

Before attending an FAQ Session, please make sure that you have watched the 2025/26 SWAY Pre-Application videos.

Regional Sessions

Regional Sessions give you a chance to hear from returning students - they will share their exchange experience and top tips, and you will have an opportunity to ask questions.  

 

These are held virtually over MS Teams. SWAY will host them, but our returning exchange students will provide all of the content.
