New eligibility requirements:

  • Only students flagged as Widening Participation will be eligible to apply for the Go Abroad Fund in 2026 - this is due to new funding restrictions

What can I use the Go Abroad Fund for?

Your trip must be educational in some way and should fall into one of the following broad categories:

  • volunteering
  • internships or traineeships
  • conferences
  • cultural activities
  • research.

Beyond that, we're open to ideas – let us know what you'd like to use the funds for!

I had an extraordinary experience completing this once in a lifetime opportunity, a 7-day hiking expedition. Even with its ups and downs, changing of plans, and unexpected weather, I wouldn’t change anything. Of course, I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the help I received from the University when it came to funding the excursion and would like to thank them for that. I would recommend applying for the Go Abroad Fund to all.
