Universidad de Valladolid

The University of Valladolid (UVa) is a public university located in the city of Valladolid, in the region of Castile and Leon. Established in the 13th century, it is one of the oldest universities in the world.

UVa has four campuses, located in Castilla y León and offers a wide variety of bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, with programmes in the fields of Science, Humanities, Engineering and Architecture, Health Sciences and Social and Legal Sciences.

This subject-specific exchange partner is suitable for students in the following subject area(s) only:

This partner is not suitable for joint honours Spanish and Politics students.


Teaching is in Spanish.  Students will be expected undertake teaching entirely in Spanish at this institution so must meet minimum language requirements. See language requirements for more information 


In order to meet regional visa requirements, all students should note that they must take a full course and credit load while on exchange, regardless of the requirements for their University of Edinburgh degree programme.  This equates to 30 ECTS credits for students on single-semester exchange, or minimum 54 ECTS credits for students on a full year exchange.
