Iceland University of the Arts

Iceland University of the Arts is an Icelandic institution of higher art education, located in Reykjavík, which offers the only university-level degrees in the arts in Iceland.

The Iceland University of the Arts has seven departments. The school is recognized by the government in the field of arts.

  • Admission to the Iceland University of the Arts is competitive, even for exchange students. Students should be aware that being allocated a place in Edinburgh's application process does not guarantee admission to the Iceland University of the Arts later in the process.
  • From the host institution: "As the number of applications exceeds the number of available study places, the selection of students is based on the quality of their applications and portfolios."
  • The IUA only accepts exchange students for the period of one semester.
