Hitotsubashi University was founded in 1875 as the first business school in Japan. It consists of three campuses: Kunitachi, Kodaira Kokusai (International) Campus and Chiyoda. Kunitachi Campus in western Tokyo is the main campus for teaching and research, Kodaira Kokusai (International) Campus is equipped with residence halls for both domestic and international students, along with excellent sports facilities, and Chiyoda Campus is located in the birthplace of Hitotsubashi, in the Kanda-Hitotsubashi district of central Tokyo. The Graduate School of Business Administration and the Graduate School of Law offer some of their courses here. The university is made up of 11 principal academic units – four faculties, six graduate schools and one institute. There are subjects areas covering from Commerce and Management, Business Administration, Economics, Law, Social Sciences, Social Data Science, Language and Society, and International and Public Policy. There are over 4,300 full-time undergraduate students, over 1,800 graduate and professional students, and nearly 9,00 foreign students.
