Lino Ika

Lino Ika is a lecturer in governance, peace, and development at Uganda Martyrs University.

Over ten years, he has taught, researched, supervised students, and participated in community service in the areas of leadership, governance, development, peace and conflict, public policy, urbanisation, and education for sustainable development.

Between 2013 and 2016, he also served as the Country Associate Director of the Karamoja Cluster Project, a cross-border peace-building initiative in the Karamoja region of Uganda and Kenya.

Previously, he worked in civil society programming, operations, monitoring and evaluation, organisational capacity development, empowerment, and policy advocacy.

He holds a postgraduate diploma in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education from Uganda Martyrs University, a Master of Arts degree in Sustainable Urban Governance and Peace Studies from the United Nations University for Peace, and a Bachelor of Development Studies from Uganda Christian University.

He is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Policy at the University of Pretoria. Some of his current research areas are governance and public policy, education for sustainable development, teaching and learning in higher education, conflict resolution and peacebuilding, and urbanization.
