This pilot project established a Europe-wide living lab for testing and scaling Joint Innovative Formats (JIFs) for education and mobility. Co-funded with an Erasmus+ grant of €5 million for three years, the 1Europe project was central to the alliance’s ambition to create a future-looking European virtual campus, turning the European Higher Education Area into reality. Futura will see the co-development of a long-term strategy for academic collaboration with the creation of hubs for interdisciplinary challenge-based research and education at the centre. It will continue its focus on high-quality international, multilingual, multidisciplinary teaching and learning outputs to ensure that our students will be truly European graduates, equipped with the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to play an important role in society and tackle future global challenges.
