Visa processing times

How long will it take UKVI to process my application?

HR colleagues will need to issue you with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS). Please contact your local HR/administrative team for information on how long it will take for this to be issued.

You will then gather your supporting documents and submit an online application form to the UKVI. As part of your application, you will need to upload your supporting documents and provide biometric information (ie fingerprints and photographs). This will be done online or at a visa application centre. The visa processing times start once this information is submitted.

Priority Services

If you need your visa application to be decided quicker, priority services may be available, for an additional fee. These fees are not covered by any University reimbursement policies.
