Visa Processing Times

The endorsement application often takes time to prepare and require a number of specified documents.

The following waiting times are based on information provided by the Home Office and the various endorsing bodies. These are indicative, not guaranteed, and decisions can take more or less time depending on the circumstances.

Endorsement applications (stage one) 

Route 1 (Academic and research appointments)

Route 2 (Individual Fellowships)  

Route 3 (Endorsed funders)

Within 14 working days 
Route 4 (Peer Review) Up to 8 weeks

Visa applications (stage two)  

Applying form outside the UK

3 weeks
