Current opportunities

We offer a number of different time-limited and ongoing opportunities throughout the year, including:

  • virtual and in-person exchanges
  • short classes and courses
  • internships
  • workshops, talks and events.

Every year, Una Europa organises a series of multidisciplinary Summer Schools, jointly developed and delivered by researchers and academics from across all 11 partner universities of the alliance. Typically, Summer Schools are focused on one or several of Una Europa’s Focus Areas and allow participants to:

  • develop their research skills
  • broaden their academic expertise and network
  • engage in cultural activities with students peers from all corners of Europe.

The 2026 Una Europa summer schools are open to doctoral researchers in the focus areas of:

  • Data Science and AI
  • Future Materials and Technologies
  • One Health
  • Sustainability.

Ongoing opportunities

Several ongoing opportunities are also available year-round.

Are you learning a language and wanting to boost your conversation skills and vocabulary? Find your language partner with the Una Europa Language Tandem Tool and start practising today.

This free tool is offered exclusively to students at the University of Edinburgh and other Una Europa universities, and allows you to find a partner based on language goals, proficiency level and interests.


Consisting of five MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) which, once completed, award the learner with 10ECTS. After studying the introductory course, there are four additional courses covering the environmental, economic, and social aspects of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).


Student Mobility funding

If you are an Edinburgh student and have been selected for an Una Europa activity, you may be eligible to receive funding to participate.
