Founded in 1985 and formally constituted by Charter in 1987, it is a large association of European multidisciplinary universities of high international standards. The Group is committed to creating academic and cultural ties to promote, for its members' benefit, internationalisation, academic collaboration, excellence in learning and research, and service to society. The Group's purpose is to influence European educational policy and develop best practices through mutual exchange of experience. Coimbra online collection A new interactive online historical collection showcases selected items from group members. This work was commissioned by the Coimbra Heritage Group and awarded to Edinburgh.
