The University of Edinburgh, in partnership with the Amjad & Suha Bseisu Foundation, are offering two fully-funded postgraduate scholarships for students from Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine to undertake masters programmes in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Scholarship details Applications for the Bseisu-University of Edinburgh Scholarship 2026/2027 are now open. Applications close at 5pm (GMT), 13 March 2026.The scholarship supports full-time, on-campus postgraduate Master’s programmes offered by the College of Science and Engineering at the University of Edinburgh. The scholarship is for students from refugee backgrounds and forcibly displaced people, including those who are internally displaced.This scholarship provides joint funding from Education Beyond Borders (University of Edinburgh) and the Bseisu Foundation. Bseisu FoundationFundingThe funding breakdown is as follows:Tuition fees will be covered by Education Beyond Borders (University of Edinburgh).Stipend of £20,780 will be provided by the Bseisu Foundation to cover living expenses (including accommodation, bills, travel and food) whilst you are studying in Edinburgh.Travel costs (including visa costs, NHS surcharge, flights and any travel accommodation) will be covered by The Bseisu Foundation.Plan your budgetIn addition to financial support, the scholarship offers academic, personal and professional development through the Education Beyond Borders team and our network of University and city-wide connections. Eligibility To be eligible for the Bseisu-University of Edinburgh Scholarship 2026/2027, applicants must be enrolling in an eligible programme and meet the requirements outlined below. Eligible programmes This scholarship is for STEM full-time, on campus Master’s programmes at the University of Edinburgh. STEM programmes are offered by the University’s College of Science and Engineering.College of Science and EngineeringApplicants must:meet the academic entry requirements for their chosen degree programmehave applied for their degree programme prior to applying for this scholarship. Search postgraduate taught programmes in CSE Nationality and domicile To be eligible for the Bseisu-University of Edinburgh Scholarship 2026/2027, applicants:must be nationals of Syria, Jordan, Lebanon or Palestinemust be refugees or displaced, including internal displacementmay be domiciled in any country outside the UK. Level of education Undergraduate degreeWe will prioritise applications from those who do not hold a UK university undergraduate degree.If you do hold an undergraduate degree from a UK university, we will accept your application, however, you must outline how the support (financial and pastoral) from Bseisu-University of Edinburgh Scholarship is essential for you to achieve your academic and professional goals.Postgraduate Master’s degreePriority will be given to applicants who do not already hold a postgraduate Master’s degree from another country. If you do already have a postgraduate Master’s degree from another country, please make it clear in your application why you require this additional qualification for your academic and professional development.If you already have a postgraduate Master’s degree from a UK university, you are not eligible for this scholarship programme.PhDWe will not accept applications from people educated to PhD level.
