SWAY competition

We invited students who had undertaken an international experience abroad, as part of an exchange, work placement or short programme, to send us an essay, photo or video to represent their time abroad.

Best Written Word

The winner in this category was Nicole Cook for a moving and expressive account of a deep connection forged with South Korea.

Special recognition was given to Clement Grene for engaging prose with interesting imagery and imagination, demonstrating a journey of personal and academic growth and to Anna Deery for a touching account of new experiences and learning.

Megan Black was the winner in this category  for depicting the enjoyment and adventure of studying abroad, as well as the strong friendships made during her international experience.

Special recognition was also given to Lauren Fairgrieve for a striking photo depicting a peacefulness in the wilderness.

The winning video was submitted by Liam Perera, for a unique way of taking us for a journey and showing us team spirit in a seemingly effortless way.
