Fundamental questions were discussed that need urgent attention as we look into future research: What will be the landscape of international research and innovation cooperation by 2030 and beyond in a rapidly changing world? How will both the UK and Swiss Higher Education Institutions (HEI) collaborate with other HEI in the EU and Associated Country friends? How can these institutions and educational alliances collaborate more beyond Europe and with Africa? To address these questions, expert speakers from academia, funders and policymakers spoke on various aspirations, including perspectives from UK, Swiss and African HEI, funders, and policymakers. "It is unthinkable that we would do R&I without mobility of our staff and students, collaborative projects, and deep partnerships and interactions with universities, governments, NGOs, businesses and civil society across our partner countries."
