Una Europa PhD Slam

Represent Edinburgh at Una Europa’s first PhD Slam, where you’ll have 7 minutes to creatively share your research topic in the area of sustainability. It’ll be live streamed on the Una Europa YouTube channel on 4 November. Find out more

The annual Edinburgh Global photography competition is now open! It is open to current international students, students who have had a ‘Go Abroad’ experience and Online Learners outside the UK.

Photography competition exhibition!

Celebrating 40 years of the Charles Wallace India Trust

13 October, 1-3pm

IASH has hosted more than twenty scholars from India, exploring topics as diverse as sepoys in the colonial era, sculptural art, the origins of chess, agriculture, yoga and contemporary Hindi fiction.

Former CWIT/IASH Fellows from across India will discuss their research and reflect on their work with Professor William Gould of the University of Leeds. Find out more and attend.

Sonia Faleiro & Megha Majumdar: Outrages in India

14 October, 4 - 5pm

Sonia Faleiro’s The Good Girls is a deeply affecting account of events in rural India. Meanwhile, Megha Majumdar’s debut novel, A Burning, sees a young Muslim woman is falsely accused of a terrorist attack and thrown into jail to await trial and execution. Taken from this year’s Edinburgh International Book Festival, the event will be broadcast on Zoom with an introduction and post-event discussion led by staff from the University’s Centre for South Asian Studies.
