Irish Academic Network in Scotland The Consul General of Ireland in Edinburgh, Jerry O'Donovan, is delighted to invite you to a virtual meeting for Irish academics and other academics based in Scotland who have strong personal or professional links with Ireland on the establishment of a network of Irish academics in Scotland. While there are a number of formal and informal structures that support east/west collaboration between academics in Scotland and Ireland, there are no networks that we have identified to date that specifically support greater engagement between Irish or Irish-linked academics within Scotland. The Consulate would see the creation of such a network as being of considerable value and as such is happy to organise a virtual meeting on Wednesday 29 January from 16:00 to 17:00 to discuss next steps and to offer some potential models which have worked well elsewhere. This meeting will be open to any academic, researcher, staff member or PHD student involved in third level higher education across Scotland who has a personal or professional link to Ireland. Express interest in joining Jan 29 2025 16.00 - 16.00 Irish Academic Network in Scotland To mark 25 years since its establishment in Scotland, the Consulate General of Ireland are hosting a series of commemorative events for Irish academics and other academics based in Scotland who have strong personal or professional links with Ireland.
