European Student Assembly

European Student Assembly (ESA) will take place 26-28 May in Strasbourg, France. This event brings together approximately 250 students from across Europe and provides a unique platform for selected European students to delve into essential issues facing the European Union, sparking impactful discussions and fostering intercultural exchange.

As an Una Europa member Edinburgh students are eligibly to take part in this EUC (European Universities Community) Voices Erasmus+ project. 

Funding is provided to support travel and subsistence.

Why participate?   

  • Voicing the opinion of European University Alliances (EUA) students from different countries, backgrounds, fields and levels of study, all recruited for their engagement and motivation.  
  • Fostering the student community-building across the EUAs.  
  • Advocating for deliberative processes in an annual pan-European assembly as a way to reduce the gap between citizens and decision-makers.  
  • Encouraging students to get involved in European politics at local, national, European level and in order to regenerate European democracy.   

Who can apply?   

Applications are open to University of Edinburgh students from all nationalities, fields and levels of study from the second year of Bachelor to PhD.

Application assistance

When asked "In what country do you currently study (academic year 2024-2025)?" (question 9) - please select 'other' and write out Scotland. Then the next question will ask "Please add your university and the European Alliance" - type 'The University of Edinburgh, Una Europa'.

I had always wondered how different European Institutions worked, and there I was at the European Parliament, participating in recommendations and inter-panel discussions and voting for different recommendations.
