Academic staff can apply for funding to support short teaching visits abroad to partner institutions. Visits normally last one week, with a minimum of 8 hours of teaching activity required per week (or part of week if the visit is shorter). It's also possible to combine a teaching and training week, with a reduced teaching load of 4 hours per week - this could enable you to gain some teaching experience with attendance at a workshop or training course, collaborative activity, research or other activity Teaching activity may take the form of lectures, seminars, one-to-ones, PhD supervision, etc. It can be at any level and could include teaching a summer programme. Staff teaching visits to Europe Academic staff can apply for funding towards a teaching visit to any non-UK European university with which we have a valid Erasmus+ bilateral agreement. View our existing Teaching Mobility agreements It's possible to set up new agreements, usually quite quickly, so if you would like to teach at an institution which is not listed above, get in touch with us at staffmobility@ed.ac.uk and we can advise on the process. Staff teaching visits outside Europe Funding is also available to support a teaching visit to one of our partner institutions outside Europe, via the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility programme. View our International Credit Mobility partners Please note that it is not possible to set up agreements with new partners outside Europe – our international partners are fixed for the academic year and we cannot support visits to any institutions not listed. If you have queries about visiting any of these partners, please email erasmus+icm@ed.ac.uk. I just completed the week in Munich and it has been great, with a high attendance to my lectures and a very fruitful exchange with staff and students.
