Guidance relating to travel restrictions and risk assessment as a result of Covid-19. Travel on University of Edinburgh business The University's most recent guidance is that travel on university business may progress, subject to full risk assessment/approval processes. A mandatory, Covid-19 specific travel risk assessment must now be completed for any travel on University of Edinburgh business, as part of your travel insurance application. You must ensure that you follow the accompanying flow chart before completing the risk assessment and then follow your normal authorisation process prior to booking any travel or accommodation. Read the University's guidance on travelling on University business Due to FCDO guidance advising against travel to many of our ICM partner countries, we are not currently opening applications outside of Europe. Applications for Europe will be accepted where FCDO guidance does not advise against all or all but essential travel to the host country. Travel will only be possible where all of the following conditions have been met: FCDO guidance does not advise against all or all but essential travel to a country - it is the responsibility of the applicant to monitor FCDO guidance throughout the application process and pre-departure The applicant's line manager approves the activity as essential The applicant has completed and had approved, a Covid specific risk assessment and insurance application The host institution is able and willing to offer an opportunity We continue to monitor changes to travel restrictions and immigration policies and will review this guidance as required.
