Development Trust, Santander and Central University Funding Development Trust, Santander and central University funding are available for international activities that meet the following criteria: Takes place outside of the UK Takes place entirely between (and including) 27 May and 31 August 2023 Has a minimum duration of 7 days (this can include your travel days) Is educational in some way, whether that be academically, professionally or personally, but it does not have to be related to your degree programme If you intend to carry out a hosted activity in multiple countries, you should only apply for this funding opportunity if you intend to spend less than 29 days in each country or if your activity is self-led (has no host). If you are in any of your proposed countries for 29 days or more, please apply for Funding Opportunity #1 instead.) How much will you be awarded? If you are selected, and successfully complete a risk assessment, you will receive one lump sum to be used towards your travel and subsistence expenses. Rates: Widening Participation Students Non-Widening Participation Students Flat rate of £850 Flat rate of £450 The applications team will work directly with the Widening Participation and Scholarships teams to determine who is eligible for Widening Participation (WP) additional funding. All students deemed eligible for the WP rate will be emailed directly by the Widening Participation team by mid-February telling them that if successful, they are eligible for Widening Participation rates for Go Abroad Fund activities that fall under Funding Opportunity #2. If your application is successful but you have not received an email from the Widening Participation team, you will receive the “Non-Widening Participation” rate in the table above. Please note that the University's Widening Participation criteria only applies to undergraduate students and that successful PG applicants will receive the non-WP rate. *Additional funding is available to support students with special needs, so if you have additional costs associated with special needs, please detail this in your application.
